#GetFreeWithBee – G Yamazawa

“I love my chicken fried, with hot sauce on the side” – G Yamazawa

The first time I was introduced to G Yamazawa from North Carolina was back in my college poetry days in 2012 when he was featured at Slam Nahuatl End Hunger Slam at VCU. His poetry was mind blowing and I immediately became a fan with how he mixed his asian and southern culture.

We kept in touch throughout the years, attended a few shows, stalked his instagram to make sure I didn’t miss any new content, you know, the usual fan stuff lol. He transferred his writing into raps, and when I tell you his lyricism is crazy, it is nothing you have ever heard!!! When I started traveling to LA, I found out G moved there to pursue his music, so I immediately contacted him about shooting together! When I tell you his swag is unmatched, and I was so honored to document him getting free! I loved seeing how the images came together on his website!

Also, if you haven’t, it is a MUST to download his latest album Shouts to Durham and check out his music video for his hit single North Cack!

Make sure to follow him @gyamazawa, and if you are in the Raleigh, NC area, G will be opening for Kooley High at the Never Come Down Album Release Party at the Lincoln Theatre on the April 21st.
